What more can I say? Trevor and Joel are crazy brothers. I think that their togetherness amplifies their energy level 10 fold. Hopefully, they are building strong memories as brothers.

Joel's b-day

Joel celebrated his 3rd birthday on May 14th. He had a Cars themed birthday party with friends and Oma & Papa in attendance. Highlights were playing with friends, eating cupcakes, and opening presents.

Trevor's graduation

Trevor graduated from his first of two years of preschool. We didn't realize the importance of this ceremony and so, unlike other kids who were decked out in collared shirts and oxfords, he wore jeans and a Star Wars lego t-shirt. Unlike other parents, we did not get him balloons, flowers, iced diploma cookies, or gifts for this graduation. I think we'll wait until high school! Congrats Trevor!

swimming lessons

The boys are taking swimming lessons at the YMCA. This is Trevor's 4th time and Joel's 1st. They are in the same class because Trevor isn't quite ready to go under the water whenever the instructor asks him too -- he has done it once or twice willingly and a few times accidentally when jumping in from the side of the pool.

scooter boys

The transportation of choice around Q-town is scooters (if you're asking Trevor and Joel). They ride up and down the driveway, around the block, to the park, and even to Evie and Issac's house. Here is Trevor doing some maintenance on his scooter before they depart to the park.

Delinquent

Okay, so we haven't been the best bloggers (only a one year gap), but we do get the hints (Heidi and Dad!). So here's to renewing the blog and not relying upon Facebook for sharing pics and milestones. Pictured are Joel's hands (picking up the bark) and Trevor's hands (on the brick).

arts faire

Trevor and Joel visited Mommy frequently during the Midsummer Arts Faire in Quincy. There was a heat advisory the first two days and Mommy decided Art Fairs are the art version of camping -- not for Mommy.

radio flyers and flyers

The boys love spanning the driveway and going around the block with their Radio Flyer scooter and trike. Also a frequent request -- to visit the helicopter pad at the hospital.

memorial day

Zeeland, Michigan knows how to put on a patriotic parade. The boys stood and clapped for all the veterens as they walked past. They admired the John Deere tractors and firetrucks. Also not bad: the suckers.

zoo

After Joel's b-day, the boys and I headed up to Michigan where we went to the John Ball Park Zoo. They especially enjoyed watching the monkeys, feeding the birds, and petting the stingrays. Trevor even rode a camel with Oma!

Joel's b-day

Joel celebrated his 2nd b-day on May 14th with a Thomas the Tank Engine themed party. Several of his friends along with Oma and Papa joined the festivities.

wrestlemania

Trevor and Joel love to wrestle. When doing so, they are easy to mistake for siamese twins.

grandma & grandpa

Grandma and Grandpa came for a visit and had fun taking walks, reading, throwing frisbees, and playing remote control vehicles with the boys.

Easter

Trevor has been greatly anticipating Easter Sunday by informing us of its line-up: "first we go to church and then we go to Evie and Issac's Oma and Pa's house for a party." He didn't even know that also on Easter would be baskets with goodies in the morning and egg decorating time in the evening. The boys have enjoyed learning the true Easter story with "Resurrection Eggs" (plastic eggs that contain icons symbolizing the story....coins, dice, linen, stone, etc.) I highly recommend them for all parents.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

The boys helped celebrated Todd's 38th b-day on April 6th. We surprised Daddy at work with balloons and sushi; later, we had brownie cake with ice cream. Birthdays are always fun with kids around.
