snow, stickers, and cheerios

Trevor had fun playing with Grandpa Tom and Oma this past weekend. He stomped in the snow, played with stickers, and fed Penny Cheerios from his truck.

veggie dip

ugly shoes

Trevor picked out this pair of sandal clogs in Michigan, and Grandpa Tom got them for him. They don't really match anything (except his tennis ball!) but he loves them and fishes them out to wear despite it being the middle of winter.

hat

Trev has taken to finding my knit cap and wearing it around the house. He likes it to either be on him or on me...so, have at it Trevor!

snowman

We had fun playing outside yesterday in the snow. Trevor wore a "Christmas Story" style snowsuit and toddled about the backyard fascinated with the white stuff. He was quite upset when it was time to go inside. Apparently, the love of snow and outdoors trumps his usual dislike of being cold.

bubbles

Trevor had fun playing with new bath toys and popping bubbles that Todd blew during bath time.

happy new year

The end of 2006 was unseasonably warm in Pennsylvania so Trevor enjoyed taking a backyard walk with Uncle Troy and Aunt Melissa.

Besides opening presents, Trevor enjoyed getting to know his little cousin Ella this Christmas. At times he was jealous and he didn't like it when she cried. However, it was good practice... he needs to get ready for his little brother to come in May!

Trevor has a love-hate relationship with Penny. Here Trevor is quite angry that Penny wants to be on "his" ottoman.

Trevor loves eating (if you can call it that) spaghetti; we keep a washcloth close by!

puzzle

Trevor has finally gotten the knack of
his three piece puzzle and can put all
the pieces in the right slots by himself. Here he is enjoying the puzzle with Dad, Grandpa, and Grandma.

raking

Trevor helped us rake leaves on Saturday. It was also a chance to sport his winter coat, hat, and mittens.

lil' dishwasher

Trevor has decided that he, along with Todd, is responsible for loading the dishwasher each night (although I use the term "loading" quite loosely in Trevor's case!) We hadn't realized that Trevor could climb into the dishwasher until he surprised us in this picture moment.

So, Trevor has decided that, at 13 months, it is time to start walking. His upper-body is really good at balancing, but his legs are still a bit wobbly. He puts out his arms "mummy style" to steady himself. Needless to say, he is cute as a button as barrels across the room.

orchard

Last Saturday, Trevor and I went to Crane's Orchard with Oma, Papa Tom, and Uncle Bud. Trevor had a great time riding in the apple cart. He was rather sneaky and kept taking apples out the bags and piling them in his lap under the blanket. When we went to buy the apples, we found an additional 10-12 apples that he had been storing.
After picking apples, we went to
the restaurant part of the orchard
for a yummy lunch.

picnic

Today we had a picnic in the park because it was 85 degrees on October 1st! We had California rolls (we made them as they are hard to come by in Quincy) while Trevor feasted on fruit and grilled "cheese" (he's lactose intolerant and eats fake cheese). After lunch, Trevor hit the swings and the Toddler playground. Penny entertained herself by barking at the park's many squirrel residents.

Army, and Trev has been having a
great time with it ever since. It is supposed to be an outdoor
toy, but Todd brought it in when
I was gone :) Trevor likes getting in and out the side door; he hasn't quite figured out how to drive it with his feet.

birthday boy

Yesterday was Trevor's first birthday and we had a "rubber ducky" party for six of his friends and their parents. We ate lunch,
played with toys, ate cake, and
opened presents. He didn't take a morning nap because of all the excitement and so crashed on the couch with me shortly after the party ended.

garbage man

Trevor's new thing is to dig through our used paper bin.

fabric

Trevor carried this scrap of fabric for week. We had to throw it away after Penny took an interest in it and made it dog-breath stinky.

Oma bought a vintage play pen in hopes that it would keep Trevor safe and give me a bit of freedom. . . . right!

story time

Oma and Papa T came for a visit last weekend. Trevor had fun showing them his house and having story-time in his bedroom. He read Teletubbies (embarassing choice of characters - but he loves them!) with Oma and the Hungry Caterpillar with Papa T.

i'm a boy

Trevor has a onesie that proclaims, "I'M A BOY." He certainly is with his constant sound effects, his need to bang metal objects, and his continual need for motion (ie. climbing on everything!) And check out that smirk :) I'm pretty sure that wrinkled nose look comes from me.

sippy cups

Trevor has become very adept at drinking out of sippy cups. Here is he handling two at once. If only he would stop throwing them on the floor when he is finished!
